Let's play their game

They asked for it – now, it's time to go 'Thailand' on these congressmen

Statement on the 'thickening plot' surrounding HB 1109
June 5, 2009

As the dust settles after the first rocky days of this Con-Ass controversy, the administration strategy is starting to take shape before our eyes. HB 1109, passed as it is in the dead of night and a mere two days before session closes, was really meant to test, and provoke, public outrage over Charter Change and bait the Supreme Court (SC) into finally revealing where it stands.

Well, here is our answer – let's play their game, but in ways they have not heretofore seen. In other words, it's time to go 'Thailand' on these congressmen.

In a speed that would make Usain Bolt proud, known administration hitman in these situations, Atty. Oliver Lozano, immediately filed a petition before the SC challenging HB 1109. The hot potato which the administration congressmen picked, peeled and cooked by themselves, they quickly passed to the SC – where it hopes to create a so-called “justiciable controversy”, presumably fanned by the public outrage that shall undoubtedly come at its heels.

Well, let's give them that. But not in a way as to play into their hands, but to come at them as a fireball that they couldn't possibly handle.
