‘Serbisyo hindi perwisyo!’ This will be the call of anti-demolition group, Kalipunan ng Damayang Mahihirap (Kadamay) as they hold Metro Manila-wide synchronized noise barrage protests against the new rounds of oil price increase and series of demolitions, one day before the giant urban poor rally on March 23, Friday. During the activities tomorrow, groups will bare the details of the day-long and series of protests set on Friday.
Highlight of the event tomorrow will be the attempt of urban poor residents of North Triangle in Quezon City to reclaim Epifanio Delos Santos Avenue (EDSA) by holding noise barrage and human chain along the said avenue, exactly one week after the successful ‘Protestang Bayan’ last March 15.
By 5:00 in the afternoon, a noise barrage will also be held in Slip Zero (along Road 10) in Tondo, Manila to also slam the inaction of the Aquino government over issues of the urban poor against price hikes of oil, basic commodities and services; as well as the series of demolitions in the said areas.
